Premium Analog Tracking
Capture the warmth, depth, and character of pure analog audio at 80 €/hour. The ultimate recording experience in Madrid.
The Magic of Analog Sound
In a world dominated by digital perfection and sterile, in-the-box production, there is an undeniable, enduring appeal to the sound of analog recording. Analog tracking captures audio with a warmth, depth, and harmonic richness that digital emulations, despite their advancements, still struggle to fully replicate. At Bivinylfiora, our 150m² facility in the center of Madrid is built around a philosophy of preserving and enhancing this classic sound. Our Analog Tracking service is designed for musicians, bands, and producers who demand the authentic texture and weight that only physical circuits, transformers, and tape can provide.
When an acoustic instrument, a drum kit, or a human voice is recorded through an analog signal path, subtle harmonic distortions and musical saturations are introduced. These "imperfections" are exactly what make classic records sound so large, glued together, and pleasing to the human ear. Analog gear smooths out harsh transients and adds a low-end weight that feels physical. Whether you are tracking a full live band in our spacious Live Room or layering vintage synthesizers in the Control Room, our analog tracking services ensure that your source material is imbued with character from the very first take, reducing the need for extensive processing during the mixing stage.
Our Legendary Analog Arsenal
The heart of our analog tracking capability is our world-class equipment roster, meticulously maintained to deliver pristine results. The focal point of the Control Room is our large-format SSL Console. Solid State Logic consoles are famous for their punchy dynamics and incredibly musical EQs. Tracking through the SSL imparts an immediate sense of size and clarity to any instrument. The console's preamps offer a fast, clean response, while its EQ section allows us to commit to broad tonal shapes right at the tracking stage, a workflow favored by legendary engineers.
Complementing the SSL, we rely heavily on outboard Neve preamps. Neve circuits are legendary for their thick, transformer-balanced sound. When we track a snare drum, a bass guitar, or a powerful lead vocal through a Neve preamp, it instantly gains authority and presence in the mix. We pair these preamps with an exquisite locker of microphones, including the iconic Neumann U87, known for its incredible detail and versatility. This combination of top-tier microphones and legendary preamplification guarantees that the signal hitting the converters is already massive and full of life.
We also utilize a selection of analog outboard compressors and EQs during tracking. Lightly compressing a dynamic vocal or a bass guitar on the way in not only prevents digital clipping but also adds a cohesive density to the track. By making these sonic commitments early in the process, we build a robust, confident sound foundation that makes the subsequent mixing phase much more intuitive and creative.
The Tracking Experience at Bivinylfiora
Our spacious, 150m² studio features a large Live Room capable of accommodating full bands, drum kits, and acoustic ensembles. The acoustic treatment in this room was designed to provide a balanced, natural reverberation that enhances acoustic instruments without overwhelming them. We carefully position microphones and utilize baffles to manage spill and isolate instruments as needed, while still capturing the energy of musicians playing together in the same space.
During an analog tracking session, our Lead Producer, Carlos Mendoza, and Sound Engineer, Sofia Navarro, work closely with you to achieve your desired sonic aesthetic. We believe in taking the time to get the sound right at the source. This means experimenting with microphone placement, swapping snare drums, adjusting guitar amp settings, and finding the sweet spot in the room before hitting record. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that the recorded tracks require minimal "fixing" later on.
Monitoring is critical during tracking. Our Control Room is equipped with premium Genelec monitors, providing an incredibly accurate representation of the analog signal path. For the musicians in the Live Room, we provide latency-free, custom headphone mixes, ensuring that everyone can hear themselves and each other perfectly, which is essential for capturing a tight, inspired performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Analog Tracking more expensive than Vocal Recording?
Analog tracking typically involves more complex setups, such as miking full drum kits or live bands, utilizing a larger array of premium microphones, outboard gear, and the SSL console simultaneously. It requires extensive routing and setup time compared to a standard single-microphone vocal session.
Should I track my whole song in analog, or just certain elements?
It depends on your budget and aesthetic goals. Tracking the core rhythm section (drums, bass, guitars) through analog gear provides a massive foundation. You can then overdub synths or backing vocals digitally if needed. We often recommend a hybrid approach to maximize budget while prioritizing analog for the most critical acoustic elements.
Can I bring my own analog gear to the session?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own vintage guitars, amplifiers, pedals, or even specific outboard units you prefer to use. Our engineers will seamlessly integrate your gear into our studio's signal flow.
Do I have to commit to a mix during tracking?
No. While tracking through analog gear involves making some tonal commitments (like EQ or light compression on the way in), we always record the individual multitracks into our DAW. You retain full control over the balance, panning, and further processing during the dedicated mixing stage.
